OS: Windows ===== Problem Description ===== When performing either a scheduled or manual MS SQL database backup job. The following backup error is received in the backup report:

===== Cause ===== The Transport Layer Security (TLS) version has not been enabled on the MS SQL Server. ===== Resolution ===== To resolve this issue, either:
  1. For MS SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012, and 2014 database backup in either ODBC and VSS backup mode, enable TLS version 1.0 on the SQL Server.
  2. For MS SQL Server 2016, 2017, and 2019 database backup in either ODBC and VSS backup mode, enable TLS version 1.2 on the SQL Server.
